Welcome To Virginia Cheerleading.

    This website is a salute to all University of Virginia cheerleading teams from 1993-2018.  My name is Jim Arbuckle, and the main purpose of this site is hope that former UVA cheer alumni and friends will donate to the current Cavalier cheerleading teams through the Virginia Athletic Foundation. I have been donating to UVA cheerleading through the VAF for well over twenty years, and one could not invest in a harder working and a more dedicated group. The Co-ed and All-Girl teams alone cheer and perform before eight hundred and nine hundred thousand each year during home and away football and basketball games.  Spirit coordinator Kelley Haney is to be commended on not only her many years of coaching, but her superb knowledge of college cheerleading.

    I have been involved in cheerleading for over forty years. Besides sponsoring the UVA cheer teams, I judged for twenty two years the cheer teams at the Division III Men’s Basketball tournament, and gave annual cheer scholarships to various high schools.  In 2006 I began coaching youth competition cheer at the YMCA, then in 2012 I opened a cheer and tumbling gym until my retirement in 2020.

    Whether former or current UVA cheerleaders, or just a friend, I hope you will check out this site. This is a personal diary I kept on each UVA cheerleading team, plus stats and a little tribute to our founder, Thomas Jefferson. And finally an ACC page, showing various Atlantic Coach Conference cheer teams over the past twenty plus years.
